As a prerequisite for high-quality biomedical research and key resource for translational research, biobanks can provide a critical competitive advantage for the advancement of biotechnology, human health and disease related activities if they are well collected, characterized and accessible. China has a large patient population, and an increasing number of biobanks have been set up, however, the diversity, lack of standardisation, different rules of access of these biobanks and the different ethical and legal landscape across China has prevented their effective use.

With the theme of “Biobank management and Quality Control”, the conference will explore the latest development, share best practice and feature first-hand experience in the management, quality control, ethical issues related to biobank development with senior professionals, top academics and leaders from global biobank projects and institutes such as BBMRI, French National Institutes of Health (INSERM), UK Biobank, etc., as well as domestic leading hospitals, institutions and pharmaceutical companies.
