On September 7th-11th, 2015, The International Clinical Trial Center Network (ICN) within an inauguration meeting was launched successfully in Zurich, Switzerland. The International Clinical Trial Center Network (ICN) currently consists of ten high-profile clinical research institutions from China, Germany, Japan, Singapore, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States. As one of the core members, Shanghai Clinical Research Center (SCRC) accredited Xu Juncai, the vice director, to attend the meeting. The ICN symposium “Connecting International Excellence in Clinical Research” and ICN steering board meeting also took place on September 10th-11th, 2015.

        Its goal is to continuously improve global clinical research in line with evolving global standards, thereby increasing the number and capacity of high-quality clinical study sites. To achieve this goal, the ICN fosters a mutual and active exchange of knowledge in this field. This exchange is not only between founding core members but also includes clinical research institutions that have become regular members of the ICN since foundation. All members of the ICN are able to make use of the network’s clinical research capabilities such as consultancy, training courses, workshops, online guidance documents and tools. All core members have in-depth expertise in different areas of clinical research, including Harvard Clinical Research Institute (HCRI), Cambridge Clinical Trials Unit (CCTU), Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Clinical Trials Unit Freiburg, Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg, University Hospital Freiburg, Clinical Trials Centre, The University of Hong Kong, Center of Excellence for Clinical Research, University of Istanbul, Institute for Advancement of Clinical and Translational Science, Kyoto University and Kyoto University Hospital, Munich Study Center, Technical University of Munich, Shanghai Clinical Research Center (SCRC), Singapore Clinical Research Institute (SCRI) and Clinical Trials Center (CTC), University of Zurich and University Hospital Zurich. All core members complement one another and lead to improved capabilities and capacities. As one of the core members, SCRC will promote international cooperation and influence of Fenglin Life Science Park.
