SCRC Director Gan Rongxing was appointed as a member of National Scientific Committee of Human Genetic Resources Administration
On September 15 th, SCRC Director Gan Rongxing was officially appointed as the member of National Scientific Committee of Human Genetic Resources Administration by Ministry of Science and Technology in Beijing. The committee held a review meeting on international projects involving human genetic resources after the appointment ceremony.
With the rapid development of biotechnology and translational research, the value of genetic resources especially human genetic resources have been highly recognized. During the advisory review meeting, the committee members from different fields shared scientific, practical and world-class research experience and contributed ideas in how to manage human genetic resources in China. Furthermore, they initiated the discussion on difficulties in the management of human genetic resources in international cooperation projects.
SCRC has made great efforts in development of standards, information management system, storage facility, research, quality control, and professional trainings since its establishment in 2008.
