The Unveiling Ceremony of SCRC Held on Feb.23

       On Feb 23, 2009, the unveiling ceremony of Shanghai Clinic Research Center (SCRC) was held in Xuhui District, Shanghai. The ceremony was opened by Deputy Head of Xuhui District, Bao Bingzhang. The Head of SCRC, Mr Gan Rongxing, introduced the mission and vision of SCRC in the ceremony. Mr Shen Xiaoming, the vice mayor of Shanghai, Mr Wang Hongguang, the Director of China National Center for Biotechnology Development, and Mr Mao Minggui, the Director of NPC of Xuhui District, unveiled the nameplate for SCRC. Also in attendance were the director of Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Mr Shou Ziqi, and the mayor of Xuhui District, Mr Chen Yin.

        Around 100 guests were present at the ceremony, including government officials, leaders from higher education and research, experts and scholars from biological and medicine industry, and representatives from well-known pharmaceutical companies.

        Before the ceremony, the First Council Meeting of SCRC was held on the same day. The council, consisting of 11 organizations and 7 individuals, approved the draft of Articles of Shanghai Clinic Research Center Council and the draft of Articles of Shanghai Clinic Research Center. The executive members of the Council and SCRC were elected. Meanwhile, the Advisory Board comprising 9 members and Ethics Committee led by Professor Hu Qingli were also appointed during the council meeting.
