Delegation from University of Zurich Visited SCRC

--Under the Program of Sino Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation

On August 20th, Dr. Jurg Lustenberger, Deputy Head of Clinical Trials Center(CTC), Head of Quality Management CTC, Center of Clinical Research, University and University Hospital of Zurich, Dr. Francisca Jorger Lebet, Clinical Research Associate, Dr. Fabian Ma-Yin Tay, Head Training Center CTC and Dr. Ludwig Silke, Head of CAS Clinical Trial Management paid a visit to SCRC for a five-day exchange program which was held under the Program of Sino Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation.

During this visit, the delegation of the University of Zurich, Switzerland, participated the "Phase I Clinical Research Workshop 2012". At the seminar, two members of the delegation shared the experiences of clinical researches of University of Zurich, especially the investigator initiated Clinical research and the quality management of the studies, which were highly evaluated by the participants. Besides, the Swiss scholars made in-depth exchanges with the professionals from Shanghai Drug Administration, hospitals and some pharmaceutical companies, and looked forward to the more extensive cooperation on clinical research in the future. The delegation also learnt the development of Shanghai Fenglin Life Science Park, Zhangjiang Drug Valley and Chinese National Compound Library, and visited Shanghai Institute for Biological Sciences.

Through this visit, staff members of both institutions shared know-how in the field of clinical research, thus contributing to a growing, fruitful environment of raising the level of understanding between different research cultures under the same roof of international standards and regulations.

CTC, affiliated to the University of Zurich, which devotes to conduct clinical trials and translational medicine research, applied for the Program of Sino Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation jointly with SCRC in 2011 and was approved in March of 2012.
