Vice Chairman of NPC Standing Committee Inspected SCRC

On March 22, Mr, Sang Guowei, Vice Chairman of National People's Congress( NPC) Standing Committee, Chairman of Chinese Peasants and Workers Democratic Party, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering inspected SCRC accompanied by member of Shanghai NPC Standing Committee and deputy director of Shanghai Peasants and Workers Democratic Party Yao Jianjian, and President of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Chen Kaixian. Vice Chairman Sang visited Xuhui Phase I Clinical Research Unit co-constructed by SCRC and Xuhui Central Hospital, data center and central laboratory of SCRC.

During the visit, Vice Chairman Sang listened to the introduction of SCRC given by SCRC director Gan Rongxing and gave high appraisal of the efforts and progress by SCRC. He pointed out that clinical research is the foundation of drug innovation and precise and reliable data are core to clinical research. He wished SCRC would strive to build clinical research platform with advance R&D capability, standardized service and high-level standards. Meanwhile, he gave suggestions on the furture positioning of SCRC, urged SCRC to strengthen cooperation with hospitals to elevate Chinese clinical research level. After the meeting, Vice Chairman Sang hosted the seminar with the project leaders for national key project "Technical Platform for Drug Development" in Shanghai.
