September 24^th, 2012, the delegation of four members from Shanghai Clinical Research Center (SCRC) led by Vice President Dr. Jack Xu paid a four-day visit to Clinical Trials Center (CTC), University and University Hospital of Zurich, Switzerland, under the Program of Sino Swiss Science and Technology Cooperation (SSSTC).

 

SCRC delegation was warmly welcomed and well received by University of Zurich(UZH) and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ). An official meeting on SCRC&CTC cooperation was organized by the Department of foreign exchange of UZH to discuss the progress and further plan of the cooperation on Sep. 25^th, joined by SCRC delegation, and Prof. Gregor Zund, Director of Research and Education, Managing Director, Center for Clinical Research CCR, Dr. Gabriela Senti, Head Clinical Trials Center CTC, Dr. Fabian Tay, Head Training Center CTC, Dr. Maio Chen, Coordinator of the Sino Swiss Science and Technology Program - SSSTC - at ETHZ, Dr. Yasmine Inauen, Head of International Relations Office, University of Zurich. SCRC team and colleagues from UZH and ETHZ exchanged opinions and thoughts on the further collaboration and the detailed plan of next year. SCRC and CTC reached an agreement on exchange activities, training and education programs, clinical research and scientific studies and quality management system development, including organizing clinical research related forums, promoting communication between clinical investigators from both countries, and developing clinical research quality management systems and so on.

 

During this visit, SCTC delegation also visited Biological Central Laboratory and Swiss Center for Regenerative Medicine (SCRM) of CCR, as well as BIO-Technopark Schlieren-Zurich. The delegation learnt the development and achievements of clinical research, translational medicine and life science research in Switzerland, and also shared knowledge and experience of clinical research in China.

 

The CTC and the SCRC staff exchanges and workshops would not only be conducive to participants, but actively contribute to creative activities by sharing and complementing local experience.
